Frequently Asked Wedding Questions

Below are some frequently asked questions about our wedding venue.  If you have anything you would like to discuss about your wedding reception or civil ceremony, please do not hesitate to call us on 01621 891406 or e-mail us.

1. What is the capacity for the main wedding room?

We can seat up to 120 people in our upstairs Forresters Suite.

2. How many rooms can we use for our wedding reception?

You can make use of the whole house, as well as the garden and grounds, if you wish.  We can hold up to 200 people for the reception.

3. Is there a bar in the main wedding room, or do you have a separate bar?

There is a self-contained bar in Forrester's Suite, and another bar in the downstairs clubrooms.

4. Can we place our own decorations and wedding favours around the tables?

You are welcome to decorate the room as you wish, or to give us place cards, favours, etc., to place on tables on your behalf.

5. Can we pay for a drinks package to cover the whole night?

We are happy to run the bar in the way that is most convenient for you - for example ‘pay as you go’; drinks to a certain amount (after which guests pay for their own); a tab for the bride and groom to enable them to buy drinks for whoever they wish; or an inclusive package.

6. Can we provide our own drink?

You are welcome to provide your own wine, champagne or sparkling wine, but we will charge you a per-bottle corkage fee.

7. Can we bring outside entertainers?

You are welcome to provide your own entertainment, whether it is a band, DJ or other entertainer. We just ask that you let us have their contact details.

8. Do you have contact information for DJs, photographers etc?

Our ‘resident’ DJ has been providing discos for us for over 20 years and will tailor the evening’s music to your requirements.  We also have some useful links with photographers, chair cover providers etc - please click here.

9. Is there plenty of parking?

We have ample parking in the grounds.

10. Can we set up facilities for children at the venue, such as a bouncy castle?

We are happy to organise bouncy castles, crèche facilities, entertainers, etc., for children.  If you would like to discuss the options, please talk to our House Manager.

11. Do you have facilities for children, such as high chairs?

Yes, children are welcome and we are happy to supply high chairs and booster seats.  Please let us know in advance.

12. How many people can you fit around one table?

Our tables comfortably seat 10 and we have two tables which will seat up to 12 people.

13. Do you mind if we throw confetti?

You are welcome to throw confetti - the more the merrier!

14. Can you provide radio microphones?
 
Yes we can supply radio microphones – please let us know in advance.

15. Can we pay by credit card?

We accept all major credit and debit cards except American Express.

16. Do you have accommodation at the venue?

There is no accommodation at Forrester Park, but we can recommend a number of nearby places to stay. We also have an arrangement with a highly recommended local hotel who can organise rooms (including a honeymoon suite) and transport if required at a special rate for Forrester Park customers.

17. Do you have disabled access?

We have a stair lift to access the upstairs Forresters Suite if required, and the downstairs area is accessible to wheelchairs.

18. When can I look around?

We are open every day from 7.30am until dusk, and you are welcome whenever is convenient for you.  However, please call to make an appointment so that we can make sure someone is here to answer any questions you may have.
