The Jean Bartlett Shield for higher handicap golfers, which was run in conjunction with the Granny Middleton competition, was won by Wendy Oxlade.
Conditions had not improved for the vets’ competition next day, which was a divisional Stableford. Reg Brunt won the silver division with 33 points with Alan Moss in second place with 30 points, beating Mark Beesley and Eric Barker on count back. Neil MacIntyre won the bronze division with 35 points, with Alan Mason in second place with 32 points.
A spell of sunshine over the weekend cheered up the golfers and dramatically improved the scores in the monthly medal. In the gold division, Clive Walby was the winner with net 68 from Nick Proctor net 70. John Luxford won the silver division with net 66 from David Gillespie, net 71.
