COMPETITION REPORT, 5TH FEBRUARY 2012, Colin Loveridge
The thaw came too late to save the ladies and vets competitions this week. However, the men were able to play a Texas Scramble for their Sunday competition and with excellent weather and the course in fine condition, scoring reached a very high standard. As usual the event was dominated by teams of low handicappers and the winning team was made up of Jamie Hughes, Ged Burfitt, Adam Peaker and Steve Cummings who with 10% of their total handicap and a large number of birdies, finished with a score of nett 58.1. This score was equalled by the team of Andy Barrett, David Eley, Steve Pettitt and Mick Farr, who were unfortunately to lose on count back.
