The Club
Whether you are a dedicated keen low handicap player, a young person with limited time or a 'club golfer' you are welcome at Forrester Park Golf Club. For the serious golfer, we play Essex County competitions and there are club competitions every Sunday morning. For those more with fun in mind there are roll-ups on a Saturday, nine-hole competitions on Wednesday evenings in the summer and a tradition of family golf.
You can pay for your membership in full at the time of joining or by monthly instalments. We have a wide range of membership types to suit most golfers - please see the table at the bottom of this page for our current membership prices. Full membership
Many Forrester Park Golf Club members play at the weekend. On Saturday mornings members and guests have priority to book tee times. The men's golf section also plays competitions on Sundays throughout the year. On average, about 70 players take part in these competitions, all of whom have handicaps; these competitions are for golfers of all standards. Our Colt Membership (under 30s) and Student Membership (under 23s) entitles you to full playing rights.
Ladies section
The Ladies' Golf Section of Forrester Park has about 100 members and, on average, 50 ladies play at the golf course on a Tuesday morning. Golf competitions are also held on Saturday mornings for ladies. There is a variety of competitions available for lady golfers, including inter-section competitions, and ladies can test their skills by competing in County competitions. The 7 Day Lady Golf membership allows ladies to play at all times other than Sunday morning, when the men's club competition takes place. They must have a maximum handicap of 36 to play in competitions.
Veterans section
About 110 people are members of the Forrester Park Veterans Golf Section, which is made up of 7 Day and 5 Day male members over the age of 55. They meet on Wednesday mornings, playing most of the traditional competitions, including summer knock-out competitions and winter leagues. They also enter the Essex County competitions, and play at least a dozen friendly fixtures with neighbouring clubs.
Juniors section
The junior members at Forrester Park have competitions on Saturdays. Golf training sessions are also organised at the club, along with home and away fixtures and attendance at Open golf meetings. Our junior membership is just £120, and we now have an Under-13 child membership for £50.
Novice golfers
If you are not sure about whether you want to take up golf, then you should try our novice golfer package, which includes a course of lessons, off-peak membership for three months and the use of our practice ground. #Pay & Play membership entitles you to play at a reduced greenfee at any time.
No greenfee is payable during the periods/times stated; reduced greenfees at other times. Prices are for one year from join date and include VAT and Golf Union membership (except Associate Membership). There is no joining fee.
